Send to Walmart opened the website, not the app
Updated October 14, 2026
Send to Walmart hands your list to Walmart through a link. Your phone decides whether that link opens the Walmart app or walmart.com in the browser. Both put the items in the same cart, as long as you’re signed in.
If it opened the browser
- Check the top of the page: if it says Sign in, sign in. The cart you see before signing in is a guest cart and won’t carry over.
- After signing in, go back to Handled. and tap Send to Walmart again.
- Still the browser? That’s fine. Pick your pickup time and check out there; it’s the same cart the app shows.
Make it open the app next time
- iPhone: make sure the Walmart app is installed and updated. Open the Walmart app once, sign in, close it, then tap Send to Walmart again.
- Android: open Settings, then Apps, then Walmart, then “Open by default”, and turn on Open supported links. Then tap Send to Walmart again.
Nothing arrived in the cart
- Make sure you’re signed in to Walmart on that phone and that your store is set to a pickup store.
- Tap Copy my list in Handled. and paste it into Walmart’s search, or into Sparky, Walmart’s assistant. Every item is written exactly as Walmart names it.
- If an item shows “out of stock” or a different product, tap Wrong item next to it in Handled. so we can fix the catalog.
Didn't fix it? Email help@handleddinner.com and say "I tried that and it still doesn't work". A person reads it within one business day.
